It's here! Finally the Holiday season is here!! The Maher Animal Hospital family has been chomping at the bit to finally decorate our office, plan the Christmas party, and indulge in the baked goodies.
One family member that may not have gifts under the tree? Your pup!! So we are here to help the dog owner, dog-grandparents, or just plain dog-lover to create a nice heap of gifts for Christmas morning!!
These collars are adorable. Not too expensive to splurge for the season, and hearty clasps! They also make bow ties!!
Can't tell you how often people bring us lost dogs off the street! These are cute and cheeky... here are a few faves:
Made in New Orleans! Perfect for Holiday pics with the pups and to add a tiny bit to your decor when you have your holiday party :)
I love these- I've never met a dog who didn't like them! You get a lot per bag, and they are doing some good while they chew on them! Dental treats probably will not get rid of the tartar on your dogs teeth, but it will help prevent the addition of new tartar, but 50%!
These are great for any dog, but especially for those with separation anxiety! I recommend giving them 10 minutes before you leave the house. You can put hard treats in them, the cheese-whiz stuff, or peanut butter! I also recommend freezing one with peanut butter, so it lasts longer. For an anxious pup, give every morning when you leave, so they get used to the routine. Often, they won't even notice you leaving!
So many of you are on different products, for heart worms and for fleas. However, I can't make a list without mentioning this product. It's inexpensive, for the effectiveness and ease of administration. It's super safe- I've never see a side effect!!
the BRAVECTO 3-month chew! (or topical!)
My most recommended shampoo... this stuff smells DIVINE. The smell lingers longer than most shampoos, especially if you lather them up, wait 8 minutes, then rinse.
I love this leash for my lab. She is constantly pulling me down, always in front of the neighbors!! Once they get used to this, it works like a charm, and they CAN'T PULL THE LEASH!!
The best dog bed EVER. I have literally fallen asleep on this thing, it's so comfy. I've had mine for 7 years and it's still going strong.
Enough said! Order early to get before Christmas!
And these: too much.
To put below the portrait, to hang the leash on:
I can't even get enough of these:
These kongs are freezable, to help with teething:
And these are my recommendations for training books!! THEY WORK!
And, if you are missing your beloved pet, and want to memorialize him or her while simultaneously helping other dogs, consider a donation in their name to your nearby Veterinary School. Not many people realize that these professional schools depend on their research departments, and they are making HUGE strides, that contribute to small animal medicine as well as human medicine. Some schools give you the option to "buy a brick," a park bench, or a plaque, in the name of your pet. I'll include a link to LSU Vet School, since it is close, but feel free to search for the school in your area that is working hard to save the lives of future pets :)
